VPN connection to the Munich university network

To install the EduVPN client, go to https://doku.lrz.de/display/PUBLIC/VPN+-+eduVPN and follow the instructions for your operating system. You need a working LMU campus account (username@campus.lmu.de) or an LRZ account.

When you run the EduVPN program for the first time, enter lmu.de to find your institute, then under Institute Access select “Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität via LRZ-VPN”:

The program will then open your web browser so that you can authenticate to the LMU web server and to allow the VPN client to connect:

When you have completed the authentication process in the web browser, select “Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität via LRZ-VPN” in the VPN client:

You can easily connect and disconnect the VPN using the central switch in the VPN client:

Your authentication is valid for 90 days, after which the VPN client will again ask you authenticate via the LMU web site.
