Installation Instructions:

WM-basic 2.x requires Windows XP/2000/NT/9x, or later editions of MS Windows.

Download the file below in a temporary directory.

This self-extracting archive "WM-basic2x.EXE" contains all the program files ("WMbasic.txt" is also included), and all the atomic data (atomic models and line lists) needed to install WMbasic 2.x on your system. Just double-click on the self-extracting archive (in Windows Explorer or on the desktop) to start the Setup Wizard, and follow the instructions. It is safe to install WM-basic 2.x in the same folder as earlier releases.
That's it!

Now you are able to run up-to-date model atmospheres of hot stars. Double-click on the shortcut of the shell program WMbasic.exe on your desktop and choose 'Rerun existing model' in the dialog box presented.
By double-clicking on the blue window of WM-basic's interface ("HERE WE GO") you start to run your first model atmosphere -- just follow the instructions by clicking the OK button in the dialog box presented and then double-clicking on the main child-window of WM-basic's interface again.
The model started is a test run, D-40 Sample run. Note that the test model is already included in the package, it will be copied by the Wizard to the correct place on your disk. After the model has finished (two to five hours, depending on your processor speed) you can compare the results obtained with those given in the D-40 Reference directory -- check the Explorer Window which opened automatically by choosing 'Rerun existing model'.
