Lecture: Essentials of Advanced Astrophysics (4 hours lecture plus 2 hours tutorial)

Module P1.1 and P1.2 for the Master of Science in Astrophysics

Lecture: Tuesday 9:45−11:15   &   Thursday 14:15−15:45

Tutorials: Several tutorial groups will be offered. For dates and rooms see the Lecture website and note that all tutorials will be held at the University Observatory, Scheinerstraße 1.

This lecture for Master of Astrophysics and Master of Physics students will give an introduction into the whole field of astrophysics.

The following topics will be covered in the first part of the lecture (until 3 December), held by Prof. Thomas Preibisch:

The second part of the lecture (from 5 December) will cover the topics of Galaxies, Structure of the Universe, and Cosmology and will be held by Prof. Joseph Mohr.


The final written exam will take place on Thursday, 20 February 2020, at 14:00 in the Hörsaal of the Universitäts-Sternwarte.
