CHALLENGE
Since our Prototype was developed in the frame of a Seed-Project for the Universe Cluster, with the aim to create a VR Visualisation Lab for the incoming Origins Cluster, we have also explored other areas of application.

For biology we looked into representations of micro scale objects and macro scale objects.

SOLUTION

CHALLENGE
At the moment those are just 3D models placed into levels, but it is possible to develop a routine similar the one we created for loading simulations in order to load such models from files on demand.
For our next example we chose string theory or mathematics, two research areas that also could greatly benefit from an advanced visualisation tool. Here it is possible to develop a routine translating formulas into 3D VR-representations on demand, similar to those in mathematica for example.

Furthermore we have created examples for large scale visualisations, such as Magneticum, particle based visualisations, large number of complex objects representation and 360° videos.

CHALLENGE
The techniques that we have learned during the work on our Pilot Project could also be used in the two other areas that are intimately connected to scientific progress: education and outreach to general public. Going beyond the scope of our Scientific Visualisation Tool, one could use our VR Lab for creating interactive VR-environments, 360° videos and more for outreach projects or educational VR-projects for students of various disciplines.
