The numerical lab-work within the Master of Science Astrophysics (WP1.1) and the Master of Science Physics with main focus Astrophysics will be held each semester. Students of the latter program have to conduct only part of the experiments described here (along with lab-work on other topics). Further details will be discussed in the introductory presentation. For further information please contact Joachim Puls.

Inhalt/Content:

Practical work at the computer, comprising numerical methods as used within astrophysics and physics.
Our numerical lab-work provides the possibility to realize numerical methods by means of selected astrophysical examples.
After a first course covering an introduction into operating system and programming language, various problems and methods are discussed and thereafter implemented by the students. We will concentrate on the following topics

Für: Studenten des Master of Science Astrophysik und des Master of Science Physik mit Schwerpunkt Astrophysik
For: Students of the Master of Science Astrophysics and the Master of Science Physics with main focus Astrophysics

Individual experiments and online material

Starting with summer semester 2016, we offer (almost) all experiments also in PYTHON (as an alternative to FORTRAN 90). For corresponding manuals and online material, please klick on the following link
