How to reach Wendelstein via public transport


You can get to Wendelstein Observatory by foot, with the cog railroad or by cable car.
The cog railroad departs from Brannenburg (Autobahn to Innsbruck). It is recommended only when arriving by car, because it takes half an hour to walk from the cog railroad station to Brannenburg (German) train station.
The cable car departs from Bayrischzell/Osterhofen, which is easy to reach by Bayerische Oberland-Bahn (BOB) or car. It's a 7 minute walk from train station Osterhofen to the cable car station. The cable car has the disadvantage that service will shut down in case of strong winds. You can find information about the departure times of the cable car and cog railroad here:
