Embedded young stellar objects with outflows

Some - perhaps all - newly formed stars go through a turbulent phase of adolescence in which they eject streams of gas that collide with the surrounding molecular cloud material. The figure below shows bispectrum speckle interferometry images of the young stellar objects IRAS 23151+5912, S140 IRS1, and Mon R2 IRS 3 (upper row, from left to right), as well as AFGL 2591, S140 IRS3, and K3-50 A (lower row).
