Dark Energy -- is a way to model the observed accelerated expansion of the universe with scalar fields or other forms of vacuum energy. My main interest is how we can learn more about dark energy with observations. I am also a member of the Dark Energy Survey (DES) team.
Modified Gravity -- Dark Energy is not the only possibilty to explain the observed accelerated expansion of the Universe. Modifactions to Einstein's general relativity on large scales could be a valid explanation for the observations. I am investigating how to constrain such theories and how to distinguish them from Dark Energy with observations.
Clusters of Galaxies -- Clusters of Galaxies are the largest overdense structures in the Universe. I am interested in the physics of these objects and how they can be exploited to test cosmology. Possibilities of measurements of clusters of galaxies are cosmic microwave background (Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect) and lensing. To the later I am a member of the EUCLID collaboration.
Cosmic Microwave Background -- My main interest here is how secondary effects, like reionization and the integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect affect the anisotropy power spectrum and how they can be used to constrain cosmological and astrophysical parameters. I am a member of the Planck Collaboration. I am also a intrested in learning about the reionization phase of the Universe with the help of 21cm observations and how to correlate with CMB anisotropies. I am a member of the LOFAR collaboration, which is a 21cm expremiment based in the Netherlands.
